The Saxon Lucht LHZ Group, specialist for electric heating systems, is expanding its vertical range of manufacture with a strategic investment in the Czech Republic. With the newly founded company ‘Keramická výroba Lucht LHZ s.r.o.’ (Ceramic Production Lucht LHZ), the family-owned company has acquired a majority stake of 60 per cent in the storage stone production of the Czech company Ardo Ceramika and is now producing its own ceramic storage stones.
By taking this step, the Lucht LHZ Group is integrating an important part of its production chain. In addition to its own metal production, powder coating and a total of four assembly lines, the company now also manufactures ceramic storage systems for panel and partial storage heaters itself.
Managing Director Uwe Lucht explains the strategic importance of the investment: “Electric radiators with storage bricks are becoming increasingly important – especially in combination with a solar system or a dynamic electricity tariff. The ceramic bricks are specifically heated when the sun is shining or the electricity price on the electricity exchange is favourable. They then maintain the temperature into the evening hours when solar power is no longer available and energy costs rise again.”
At the ISH, the Burgstadt-based company presented ‘TECHNOTHERM dynamo’, a storage heater that stores and maintains the set temperature in a room for more than three hours without reheating, around 50 per cent longer than comparable electric radiators. Lucht LHZ achieves this with an additional row of ceramic stones inside the heating system, which can be intelligently controlled.
The Lucht LHZ Group can look back on over 35 years of experience in the development and manufacture of electric radiators. All appliances are produced exclusively at the Burgstädt and Hartmannsdorf sites in Saxony, with all components and preliminary products coming 100 per cent from European production.
