E-heating manufacturer Lucht LHZ increases turnover by around eight per cent in the current financial year
Burgstรคdt, 04 November 2024 –
Lucht LHZ, an international manufacturer of electric direct heating appliances, has increased its order intake and company turnover in the current financial year (1 January 2024 – 31 October 2024) by around eight percent compared to the same period last year – despite the current consolidation phase in the heating market. The month of September was particularly successful for the medium-sized Saxon company, as Managing Director Uwe Lucht points out: “The order intake in September was more than 35 per cent up on the same month last year. This makes it the second best September in the company’s history.”
German heating industry weak overall
Sales of heat generators in the German heating industry fell sharply in 2024. This is according to figures published by the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) at the end of October. According to the figures, sales of heat generators fell by a total of 48% in the first three quarters compared with the same period last year. Sales of heat pumps fell by as much as 52 per cent. This means that the German government’s target of 500,000 heat pumps installed in Germany each year is now a long way off.
Made in Germany with European components
Lucht LHZ Elektroheizung GmbH & Co. KG currently employs 65 people, 55 of whom work in production. Uwe Lucht plans to take on around ten new employees next year. The Saxon company manufactures all its heating equipment in Burgstรคdt and Hartmannsdorf. All the company’s electric heaters consist of 100 per cent components manufactured in Europe. The primary products also come exclusively from other European countries. The company’s product portfolio includes all forms of electric heating: from infrared heaters to panel storage heaters and convectors.
Market unattractive for Asian manufacturers
Lucht LHZ, a family-owned company, has more than 35 years of experience in the production and development of electric radiators. Unlike solar panels or heat pumps, the market is not yet dominated by Asian manufacturers: “Depending on the type of electric heater, it is currently not attractive for Asian manufacturers to start production. Surface storage heaters, for example, are a product that is difficult to mass produce. The situation is different with infrared heaters. Here, Chinese products are increasingly entering the German market via online retailers such as Amazon. That’s why it’s important for us as a manufacturer to focus on a broad product portfolio,” explains Uwe Lucht.
