A world first at the ISH: At the leading trade fair for water, heat and air, the electric heating company Lucht LHZ is showcasing an electric heater with a unique storage capacity. The new ‘TECHNOTHERM Dynamo’ storage heater maintains the set temperature in a room for more than three hours without reheating, which is around 50 per cent longer than comparable electric heaters. Lucht LHZ achieves this with an additional row of thermal storage blocks inside the heating system, which can be intelligently controlled. The surface storage heating system is therefore perfectly suited for use with a dynamic electricity tariff or your own solar system.
Storage heater with double storage capacity
The new storage heater is available in three different versions (750 to 2,200 watts) and, like all heating systems from Lucht LHZ, can be controlled via a digital thermostat. The two rows of thermal storage units can be controlled separately, as Managing Director Uwe Lucht explains: ‘The first row of storage blocks is there to cover the base load. It is specifically controlled to maintain a minimum temperature in the room. The additional heat storage in the second row is suitable for covering the peak load. It is used, for example, when additional heat is required in a room.’
Optimised use with dynamic electricity tariff and solar energy
The additional thermal store can also be used to increase the room temperature in the evening – for example, if solar power is still available in the afternoon or electricity is particularly cheap on the electricity exchange: ‘Especially in combination with our intelligent app control system, heating requirements can be planned and controlled very efficiently with dynamic electricity tariffs or self-generated solar power. This not only saves costs, but the electric heating systems also help to stabilise the power grid by helping to avoid peak loads from renewable energies,’ says Uwe Lucht.
