+++ Positive business trend continues in 2025
+++ Heating market in Germany collapses by almost half
Burgstädt, 19 February 2024 –
Lucht LHZ is a manufacturer of electric direct heating systems from Burgstädt near Chemnitz. The globally active company closed the past financial year with an eight per cent increase in turnover. Sales of electric heaters also increased significantly: from 57,000 devices in 2023 to 61,000 in 2024. The company’s positive development will continue in the new year: In January 2025, the Lucht Group’s turnover actually increased by more than 18 per cent compared to the same month last year.
Managing Director Uwe Lucht is very satisfied with the company’s current development: ‘As a group, we are now growing well ahead of the market. This means that we are doing a lot right in the current phase.’ Lucht LHZ has more than 35 years of experience in the production and development of electric heaters. All of the Saxon company’s electric radiators consist of 100 per cent components that are manufactured in Europe.
Electric heaters as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative
65 people currently work for the Lucht Group, 55 of whom are employed at the production sites in Burgstädt and Hartmannsdorf. The product portfolio includes all forms of electric heating, including infrared heaters, panel storage heaters and convectors. The electric heaters are sold under the TECHNOTHERM brand. Lucht LHZ also produces electric radiators as an OEM partner for more than 70 companies around the world.
Unlike other heating systems, electric heaters are very easy and inexpensive to install – and therefore represent an important alternative to oil and gas heating and heat pumps: ‘If homeowners only use green electricity, they also have a completely sustainable electricity and heating system. The ideal case is then the combination with their own solar system on the roof. This also makes homeowners largely independent of the energy market,’ says Uwe Lucht.
German heating market collapses
Sales of heat generators in the German heating industry fell significantly in 2024. This is according to figures published by the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) at the end of January. According to the figures, sales of heat generators fell by 46 per cent overall in 2024 compared to the previous year. Sales of heat pumps also fell by 46 per cent in the past financial year.
